Treatment For Visarpa(Erysipelas)

The Disease Visarpa is a Skin Ailment in which Pitta dosha gets Vitiated and inturn act as Dushya for Rakta (Blood), Skin, Lasika, MamsaDhatu( Muscle Tissue) and there will be rashes spreading like Snake hence got the name Visarpa.

Other Symptoms include:-

Formation of Pustules in the Skin that may break open and form Ulcer

High Fever, Thirst, Diarrhoea.

Treatment

In classics it is said that For VisarpaLanghana and Rookshana isHitha or Good. So One can undergo Langhana and can take RukshaPadartha or Rooksha Food.

The main line of management include Shodana like Raktamokshana( Blood Letting), Vamana(Vomiting), Virechana(Purgating).

Since this disease will be aggrevated with Kledana, One should not give Snehana to the Patient in VISARPA Disease.

Other Than this:-

Intake of Pomegranate, Grapes, Dates, Gooseberry is good in Visarpa disease.

One Should Avoid intake of Lavana(Salt), Amla(Alkaline), Katu(Spicy), Food Items

Avoid Intake of Curd, Fermented Items, Fried Items, Oily Food, Alcohol.

Avoid Exposure to Sunlight Etc

Unmada Treatment

According to Acharya Sushrutha, Develoment of Delusion with mind agitation, Sound Hallucination, Showing interest to work eventhough bestowed with weaknes, Tastlesness, dreaming about contaminated food, Vertigo, Vata causing a bewildered feeling etc are the Premonitary symptoms of Unmada.

And the main symptoms include, Instability of Mind and intellect, Anxiety, Vision becomes blurred or blank, irrelevant speech, Empty feeling in heart region.

He will not be having sense of Pleasure, grief, Dharma, Adharma, lacks peace, and wanders without an aim.

Treatment:-

VatajaUnmadaChikitsa:- Patient with Vataja unmade should be given Snehapana as the first line of management since this will decrease the Rukshatha(Dryness property), Krushatha property of Vata. Samshodhana using mrduVirechana(Elimination therapy that is by purgating) is used in cases where Vatavarodha is caused by kapha and Pitta.

Pitta KaphajaUnmadaChikitsa:- In such cases shodhana(Elimination therapy) is the primary treatment. Patient should be done with Vamana(Vomiting) and Virechana(Purgating)

After these to procedure, patient should be done with SamsarjanaKrama(Inorder to make him regain his digestive power, strength etc).

Once this is over, according to the strength of patient Niruha and Anuvasana type of Enema(Basti) should be given to patient.

With above said Panchakarma treatment management patient will get his body purified which will inturn purify his mind.

Other than these:-

Internally Sanjyasthapana and Medhya(that will act on intellect and mind) should be given.

Patient who is not responding to Panchakarma treatment should be done with severe means of treatment including:-

Applying TeekshnaDravya in the Eyes as Anjana, Smoking teekshna drug medicated Cigarette, Beating the person etc. Since fear for his life make his mind and intellect stable – Consoling the patient can also be done.

Giving the opposite kind of emotion to the etiological emotion that is if etiological emotion is sadness, we have to give him pleasure etc.

DaivavyapashrayaChikitsa(Practising Holy rituals) can be done in AgantujaUnmada.

Switra(Leucoderma)

This disease is characterized by presence of whitish discoloration of Skin without any pain or Itching.

Treatment:-Shodhana(Elimination Therapy) is the main line of management, since it is said to be RaktajaVyadhi(of blood Orgin) Blood letting can be said as a treatment measure. Also other Shodhana therapies like Virechana, Upavasaetc cam be done

Followed by this ShamanaChikitsa should be done.

Other than this:-

One should avoid salty, pungent, spicy, sour, fried food items and incompatible food.

Since this disease can be occurred due to bad deeds in previous life and present life one should follow rituals to get forgived for your bad deeds

Treatment For Swasa (Asthma)

In Swasa there will be difficulty in Respiration Since the PranaVahaSrotas is Obstructed By Vitiated KaphaDosha which will cause Vata or Air to Move in its opposite Direction than Usual direction

In Classics the same treatment is told for Hikka(Hiccough), Swasa(Dyspnoea) and Ardita(Facial palsy).

In all these cases one should give Snehana(Oleation Therapy), followed by which swedana should be done.

Applying LavanaTaila(Oil mixed with Salt) over chest should give good results since all these procedures cuaseKapha to get liquefied and makes to Vata get Pacified there by getting Relief.

Other than this

ShamanaChikitsa which pacifies Kaphadosha can also be given.

Also restrain from dust, smoke and allergents which may result or cause Swasa

Avoid Cold and Heavy Food Items

Plantar Fascitis

In Plantar Fascitis, due to frequent standing or stress – Fascia in the heel region get inflamed by the contact of bone underneath it.

Ayurveda has a typical treatment for Plantar Fascitis.

Treatment Idea:-

A Particular leaf should be taken which should be applied with OiL on both the sides

3 – 4 such leaves are placed over a Brick that is hot (Brick Should be Heated in Fire).

And later patient is asked to place his heel over the brick for a time, So that he feels that the heat is radiated from the brick to his Heels. One Should tolerate this radiating heat up to his ability.

This will cure this disease since heat initiates the body to start a rapid repair mechanism of the Fascia.

Worm Infestation(KrimiRogaChikits in Ayurveda)

There are mainly 3 types of Management in KrimiChikitsa

1. Apakarshana:- Apakarshana means extraction of Krimi with the help of instruments etc, it is also mentioned that Krimi residing inside the body should be eliminated out with some of the Shodhana( elimination) therapies like Sirovirechana, Vamana, Virechana( Purgation), Vasthi (Enema).

2.PrakritiVighatha:- In this step we have to make patient body unsuitable for the Krimi’s to reside by giving drugs with such properties that is unfavourable for worms

3. NidanaTyaga:- One should avoid all the factors which become etiology for growth of Krimi.
