Kutajarishta

 

Kutajarishta is mentioned in Bhaishajya Ratnavali: Atisara Adhikara, this particular formulation with its Grahi and Deepana(Acts as Appetizer) action is a one best remedy in Ayurveda for Atisara(Diarrhoea). It has got other actions like Rakta Stambhana(Arrests Blood).

Indications:- Sarva Jwara(All types Of Fever), Grahani(Git Disorders), Raktaja Atisara(Diarrhea).

Ingredients:- Kutaja Moola, Draksha, Madhuka, Kashmari.

Mustakarishta

 

Mustakarishta is mentioned in Bhaishajya Ratnavali: Agnimandya Adhikara, It has actions like Deepana – Pachana(Appetizer and Digestive), Relieves Abdominal Distension.

Indications:- Ajeerna(Indigestion), Agnimandya(Less Digestive Power), Visuchika, Grahani(GIT Disorders), Diarrhea, Pravahika, Jwara(Fever), Tastlesness(Aruchi), Stanya Dosha.

Ingredients:- Musta, Yavani, Nagara, Maricha, Lavanga, Methika, Chitraka, Jeeraka.

Putikaranjasava

 

Putikaranjasava is mentioned in Ashtanga Hrudaya: Arshas Chikitsa Adhikara, , It has actions like Malanulomana(Proper Expulsion of Wastes) with its Lekhana -Bhedana action, Does Vata Anulomana(Proper movement of Vata), Deepana – Pachana(Appetizer and Digestive).

Indications:- Arshas(Piles), Pandu(Anaemia), Gara Visha, Udara, Gulma, Pleeha Roga(Splenic Disorders), Anaha(Abdominal Distension), Ashmari(Urinary Calculi), Mutrakrcchra(Difficulty in Passing Urine)

Lohasava

 

Lohasava is mentioned in Bhaishajya Ratnavali: Pandu Rogadhikara, It has actions like Rakta Prasadana, Rakta Vardhana(Increases Blood), Good For Spleen and Liver, It does Durmedoharana(Relieves excess fat) and thus relieves Kandu(Itching).

Indications:- Pandu(Anaemia), Swayathu, Gulma, Udara, Arsoruja(Pain caused due to Piles), Kushta(Skin Disorders), Pleha Roga(Splenic Disorders), Kandu(Itching), Swasa(dypnoea), Bhagandara(Fistulo in ano), Arochaka, Grahani(GIT), Hrdroga(Cardiac Disorders).

Ingredients:- Loha Choorna, Trikatu, Triphala, Yavani, Vidanga, Musta, Chitra, Eranda.

Lodhrasava

 

Lodhrasava is mentioned in Ashtanga Hrudaya: Prameha Chikitsa Adhikara, It has got actions like Durmedohara(Relieves excess fat deposition), Kushtaghna(Relieves Skin Disorders), Krimighna(Acts against Skin Disorders), Yakrt Balya(Strengthens Liver)
